Dutch fashion: Jan Boelo Drenth
'Dreams of powerful people with a style and personality of their own'
Jan Boelo Drenth (born 1988) is a Dutch fashion designer, creating wearable garments for both men and women.
His key inspiration and fashion icon is Edgar Vos (1931 - 2010) - one of the most influential fashion designers the Netherlands has ever had. Boelo was really intrigued by the way that Vos talked so passionately for the way of making couture, that got in touch with him.
The designer studied Fashion Design at the Utrecht School of Art and visited a number of trainees at Paul Schulten, Jan Taminiau, Marloes Blaas and Balmain, until he launched his label JANBOELO in 2010.
Today, Dutch celebrities like Victoria Koblenko, Carice van Houten and Ellen ten Damme are among Jan's fans and regular customers.
His signature style includes 'making the optimal of the existing techniques', knowing the 'how-made' of garments and mixing 'rock and gothic elements with sexy and original modern elements'.
