Elizabeth Hurley Hosts Glamorous Hot Pink Party with Special Performance by Elton John

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) hosted their annual Hot Pink Party at The Glasshouse in New York City. The evening raised over $9 million to support BCRF’s global legion of 260 scientists pursuing high-impact, lifesaving breast cancer research.

Hosted by Elizabeth Hurley, Global Ambassador of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, the evening honored Anthony von Mandl, O.C., O.B.C., on behalf of the von Mandl Family Foundation, with the Evelyn H. Lauder Spirit of Philanthropy Award. Presented to von Mandl by William P. Lauder, the award celebrates those whose altruistic impact profoundly improves the lives of others.

Actress and author Sheetal Sheth presented the Roslyn and Leslie Goldstein Unsung Hero Award to her friend Angela Le. Following the presentation, BCRF Founding Scientific Director Dr. Larry Norton gave remarks and Lydia Fenet led the crowd in an impassioned Time for Research live auction.

The evening featured an unforgettable performance by Global Pop Icon and Philanthropist Elton John in tribute to his dear friend and BCRF Honorary Chair, in memoriam, Leonard A. Lauder. John took the stage to perform his hits “Your Song,” “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters,” “Tiny Dancer,” “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” and “I’m Still Standing.” BCRF Co-Chair Emeritus Kinga Lampert also introduced a video tribute to Lauder in honor of his critical role in advancing BCRF’s mission.

“More than thirty years ago, a single spark named Evelyn Lauder ignited a flame. That flame was then carried forth by Dr. Larry Norton, Leonard Lauder, Myra Biblowit, and so many of you here tonight,” said BCRF President and CEO Donna McKay. “Today, it’s a blazing fire of discovery, bringing about extraordinary advances and lighting the way to better outcomes for countless women and men worldwide.”

“I’ve been proud to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for decades. This year I’m performing to honour the memory of my friend, the great Leonard Lauder—whose unwavering dedication to this organization carried forward the extraordinary legacy of its Founder, his wife Evelyn,” said Elton John.

Other notable guests included: Alison Hall, Ashanti, Danielle Lauder, Eliana Lauder, Emily Rockefeller, Erin Lichy, Gretta Monahan, Jill and Harry Kargman, Justine Morris, Katie Thurston & Jeff Arcuri, Kecia Stellman, Lizanne Kindler, Miranda McKeon, Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka, Rebecca Cohen, Sandra and Eric Ripert, Sandra Lee, Sara Sidner, Stefane de la Faverie, Vera Wang, and more.

In the 30 years since BCRF's founding, breast cancer mortality rates have declined by 44 percent in the U.S. As the world's largest private funder of breast cancer research, BCRF-funded scientists have contributed to every major breakthrough in the field. However, with breast cancer incidence on the rise, BCRF's mission to fund innovative research has never been more critical.

The event experience was made possible with generous support from Rafanelli Events and Winston Flowers.
