Christopher Robert Evans is an American actor and filmmaker, born in Boston in 1981. He is most famous for his superhero roles as the Marvel Comics characters Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Human Torch in Fantastic Four.

In 2013 he starred as the lead in the critically acclaimed science fiction action film Snowpiercer, and in 2015, he made his directorial debut with the drama Before We Go, in which he also starred.

In 2011, Evans won Scream Award for 'Best Superhero' for his part in Captain America: The First Avenger, while in 2015 he was awarded with People's Choice Award for 'Favorite Action Movie Actor' and Teen Choice Award for 'Choice Movie Scene Stealer' - both for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The actor was raised as a Catholic, but has a great interest in the philosophies of Buddhism. He is also a supporter of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) rights.
