Remus Uomo Fall/Winter 2018-2019 collection
The deepening, immersive relationship between man and nature is a cultural and creative trend which has served as their inspiration for Autumn/Winter 2018. The latest collection balances the rugged textures and colours of the natural world with the clean lines of modern design to create a unique and well considered collection for the new season.
Naturally inspired designs such as marbling, rock formations and naturally occurring geometrics contrast with the manmade geometry of stripes to form the major pattern theme running through the range. The season’s colour palette sees cobalt, ink blue and cloud grey accented by earthy burgundy and port red while olive and moss greens continue the nature theme.
Feature contemporary stripes are used to both subtle and bold effect in pinstripe and boucle, in multi-coloured variations, both vertical and horizontal and creatively, in contrasting textures.
The inherent beauty of natural, irregular fibres in wool, cotton and suede is balanced by the ingenuity of innovation, as boiled and felted wools, 3D-effect structures, jacquard tweed and performance fabrics come to the fore.
The move towards greater freedom, comfort and versatility in what men wear has resulted in layering becoming more than a styling choice. Now a fundamental principle of men’s style, this season sees layering at the core of the collection with lightweight jackets styled under overcoats, the utilitarian edge of the ‘overshirt’ as outerwear or as a layering piece and a novel approach to casual suiting.
Casual suiting sees suit jackets with softer shoulder lines and casual trim details paired with feature trousers and worn with knitwear for this new take on the office uniform.
Tailored coats too show a more relaxed edge, with softer lines and jersey fabrics part of a collection which also features quilted and bomber style jackets.
