European Commission announced “Textiles of the Future” Partnership under Horizon Europe to develop an innovation-driven European textiles industry
In the fringes of the EU Research and Innovation Days, the European Commission has announced 9 new European co-funded and co-programmed partnerships, including “Textiles of the Future”. These partnerships will be at the core of the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027, addressing the green and digital transition, and a more resilient, competitive, inclusive and democratic Europe.
EURATEX welcomes EU’s ambition for a sustainable and competitive industry, but calls for a smart and realistic implementation
On 30 March 2022 the European Commission released its long-awaited Strategy for Sustainable Textile, with the ambition to move the sector towards the path of sustainability. EURATEX welcomed the EU ambitions to act on sustainable textiles and investments, in order to change how textiles are made, chosen and recovered. Many European companies have already chosen this path, therefore the strategy should support them in this process, especially considering today’s energy crisis.
118 organisations signed today the Textile Clothing Leather Footwear (TCLF) Pact for Skills
118 organisations signed today the Textile Clothing Leather Footwear (TCLF) Pact for Skills, an initiative promoted by the European Commission and coordinated by EURATEX. The signatories acknowledge the skills challenge in the textiles ecosystem, and commit to invest in reskilling and upskilling workers, integrating green and digital skills and improving the attractiveness of the sector. Members of the Pact will benefit from networking, guidance and resources offered by the EC to implement the targets which are proposed in the Pact.
EU should speed up the recovery of the textile sector
The textile and clothing industry was hardly hit by the pandemic in 2020. It is time for the European Commission and Member States to set the conditions for future competitiveness and resilience, announced EURATEX.

Eco Fashion Week Australia (EFWA) is now accepting submissions from designers around the world to create one unique look using men’s shirts for the return of the Upcycling Challenge by Marilyn R. Wilson.
