Modefabriek Summer 2014 was held in Amsterdam
This year's Summer edition of Modefabriek was held on 13 & 14 July at the Amsterdam RAI.
Modefabriek is an innovative business-to-business trade show for labels in the middle and high segment of the fashion market, which value the uniqueness, quality and continuity with an individual vision of fashion.
Highlights of the event:
- Retail Future Home: THE PHILOSOPHY OF HOME GROWN - an interactive exhibition with workshops, lectures, visualisations, taste experiences and a market. On this project was working artist Claudy Jongstra, who dyes the wool of her own sheep using home-grown plants, designer Mark van Vorstenbos from the innovative knitwear label Youasme Measyou and Dynamic Foodshowroom from Arnhem.
- NEXT talent and FashionWeek - a selection of eight highly promising 'young' designer labels were introduced to the audience.
- Lecture program - long list of experts in the areas of trends, marketing, offline/online retail and media lectured during the event.
- New labels - Modefabriek welcomed the following new labels: Atelier do Sapato, Frontrow, Goldbergh, Pretty Ballerinas, Riverwoods, Only & Sons, Garcia Jeans, Hup_beautiful details, Lagerfeld Heren, Laimböck Gloves, Oxbow, Matinique, Men of All Nations / Bertoni of Denmark, POM Amsterdam, Superga, Lanius, Kuyichi / STUB001, Recolution, Wanabana, Rabeanco, Zoë Carol, Arc'teryx Veilance.
Dean Manev, the sales manager of the Men's Fashion Cluster, also visited the event. There he presented the Men's Style project and showed to young fashion designers from the Netherlands and abroad how they can start their own menswear fashion lines and create made-to-measure ateliers with the support of the cluster. The designers were very interested in the business opportunities this international project gives and decided to join it and start designing their men's suits collections.
