Designed to complement the brand`s commitment to improving working conditions for UK based talent, the Made in Britain range is ethically produced, stylish and comfortable, perfect for snuggling up with a book, going out for a brunch with friends or working from home!

The new dungarees, which are available in white, are produced at the Lucy and Yak headquarters in Barnsley, Yorkshire, by the brand`s two local seamstresses, Amanda and Carol. Having previously worked for global corporations who relocated operations abroad to save costs, Amanda and Carol were amongst the large community of undervalued local talent that Lucy and Yak is dedicated to creating new opportunities for with their `Made in Britain` range.

Previously, all Lucy and Yak clothing was produced in the brand`s factory in India by a skilled team of tailors headed by Ismail, paid four times the state minimum wage by the firm. While a percentage of Lucy and Yak manufacturing will be relocated to the UK for the `Made in Britain` range, other products will continue to be created by Lucy and Yak`s India partners, with the organisation committed to improving working conditions not only in the UK, but also in India where much of its team are based.

`We are so excited to have launched our Made in Britain range, and we couldn`t have chosen a better product to launch with,` says Lucy and Yak Co-Founder, Lucy Greenwood. `This has been a long time coming, and we`re so pleased that we`ve been able to take this next step, creating fantastic hemp dungarees which not only look and feel great but most importantly boost local production In Barnsley (which makes my Dad a super proud Yorkshireman), contribute to the local economy, and improve employment opportunities, right here at home in the UK.`

`We were saddened to hear there are 24 factories in the UK which are failing to pay the minimum wage to UK workers, so being able to launch our Made in Britain range with our new dungarees has been hugely important for us as a brand, and I can`t think of a better home for our UK production hub than my hometown of Yorkshire!`

In keeping with Lucy and Yak`s dedication to using only sustainable fabrics in their designs, the new hemp dungarees are made from organic materials which are ethical, environmentally friendly, comfortable, and wearable.

While the brand has previously launched dungaree products, including the Atlas dungaree made from organic denim, the new hemp dungarees are the first to be produced in the UK. The brand is now further expanding the `Made in Britain` range with ethical bucket hats and bags, all made at the Yorkshire HQ, available exclusively from their Brighton store.

Nicknamed Adel, the Made In Britain dungarees are priced at £85 and available in sizes XS (UK size 6-8) to XL (UK size 20).
